"wherefore, if these things have ceased, then has faith ceased also; and awful is the state of man: for they are as though there had been no redemption made. But behold, my beloved brethren, I judge better things of you, for I judge that ye have faith in Christ, because of your meekness:" Moroni VII, pg 580.
I love it when the scriptures give away the answer!
Meekly following the Path of Messiah is faith, and redemption takes effect, and all the gifts of God are consistently happening today!
What a great God we have!

Meekness. I’m always reviewing what certain words mean. Maybe you could add to what I have gathered so far, and if these things are meekness.
Meekness would be being gentle in word and deed with each other. Meekness would be being content with what God has given us. Meekness is not needing to be right about anything. Meekness would be following the Spirit of Holiness. Meekness is being a follower. Following the Lord. Meekness is being a peacemaker. Meekness is not contending or explaining anything, when it would do no good anyway. You’d be seen as contending. Is that right?
What are other ways we can understand what meekness is?

I like the things Terry has on her list.
Just a comment about the question about meekness is not contending.... I would suppose that there are thousands of things, if not millions:), that meekness is not. It is a great topic and one worthy of exploring more deeply. One thing that I can see from the scripture is that meekness is a requirement, an essential virtue and perhaps the most important, for all miracles to be performed.

I really like this Kevin. “...meekness is a requirement, an essential virtue and perhaps the most important, for all miracles to be performed.”
I had never thought of meekness within us for miracles to happen. How much more to keep striving for meekness and understanding it. This fits in with what the Administrator said, (I like the title Administrator, because you Administer many things, and if we only knew just how much our minds would be blown.)
When the Administrator said, “...redemption takes effect, and ALL the Gifts of God are constantly happening today.” Today. Now. Constantly. Wow! I’m so behind the 8 ball. I need this ‘meekness’ in the worst way. And what are the Gifts of God? I will go look them up.

Terry, feel free to start a thread on Meekness. It is certainly a worthy topic.

Our Father is definitely no respecter of persons. All who do His will, are numbered by Him!

What does it mean; To stand as witnesses of God?
Since it is not recorded that these people saw God at this time, to what does this phrase refer?

“When life is too good, we think too highly of ourselves and our blessings. Then we decide we are the wisest and the favored ones, and we don’t think we need Wakan-Tanka and the Helpers anymore.” ~ Fools Crow
How many times we have seen this pattern repeat in the BoM. And how many times in our own lives.
When things are going hard, we can pray several hours a day; when things are going well, we may only pray 15 minutes at a time, a few times a day.

This is such a cool promise!!! I have thought about this scripture often. The language is quite interesting. At one time in his life, Boyd K. Packer listed this as his favorite scripture. It has different ways you can interpret it. That Book of Mormon is quite the book. What a great promise as we apply what is written.

14 And ye will not suffer your children that they go hungry, or naked; neither will ye suffer that they transgress the laws of God, and fight and quarrel one with another, and serve the devil, which is the master of sin, or which is the evil spirit which hath been spoken of by our fathers, he being an enemy to all righteousness. 15 But ye will teach them to walk in the ways of truth and soberness; ye will teach them to love one another, and to serve one another. Mosiah Chapter 2 Page 164 I love this scripture! .

Kind of interesting!
How many of us would even listen, to go off into the wilderness when the Lord has called? How many of us would be humble enough to be led by MANY preachings and prophesyings?? How many of us would be meek enough to put up with being Admonished CONTINUALLY???
Who wants to live that way?

This is an oft quoted line, from the Second Book of Nephi, chapter I, paragraph 4, pg. 65. Although this line is great, it is not complete without the explanation of how to obtain that joy, which is expressed in the same paragraph.
