I have noticed all the excitement of Black Friday Sales. This US holiday has entered Canada, even though we do not celebrate US Thanksgiving. Black Friday seems to be getting everyone excited, and the stores are capitalizing on the opportunity to draw in more customers. And I was thinking, do we think the same in helping people??? I mean, if we are so grateful for all the Lord has given us, and we are so excited about saving money on all these sales, can we think of the less fortunate among us, and send some of those savings their way???
Here in Canada, we have a traditional holiday called Boxing Day. It is the day following Christmas day; December 26th. It is traditional that after receiving so many gifts on Christmas, we box up our old stuff and give it to the poor. For example, when we receive a new coat on Christmas, the next day we give our old coat to those who need one. This shows our Father in Heaven that we truly do appreciate His gifts.
Let us all remember the Lord, and give back whenever we receive, and whenever there is a sale! 😇
