The older I get, the more I see Grumpiness as one of the most terrible sins. Of course it is just a symptom of selfishness, but it is an easily combatted symptom, that does not have to be a symptom. Which leaves grumpiness as simply a choice. Thereby making the choice to be grumpy is a plain out and out sin!

I believe we should choose Selfless joy and happiness instead!

Of course the scriptures back this up thoroughly, so, would anyone like to start us off with supporting scriptures?

"Behold, my beloved brethren, remember the words of your God. Pray unto Him continually by day and give thanks unto His holy name by night. Let your hearts rejoice!" 2 Nephi 7
I find it hard to be grumpy when praying and giving thanks. If we are able to always do this we will have no grumpiness at all. Peace and joy will abound!

4 Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.
5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
~Philippians 4:4–7

Here is one, where the Lord does not want us to look sad, even while fasting:If I could be funny, I would say, If we have a grumpy face, Father would not reward us!

Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil. ~ Isaiah 37:8
And;
And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, ~ 2 Timothy 2:24

Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. ~ James 1:19-20
And;
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. ~ Philippians 4:8
And;
Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. ~ Colossians 3:12-13
These makes a pretty clear point of how we should think and do. And being grumpy is not in the list.

14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.
15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
16 Rejoice evermore.
17 Pray without ceasing.
18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
19 Quench not the Spirit.
20 Despise not prophesyings.
21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.
23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
~ 1 Thessalonians 5:14-24
This is also very descriptive scripture.
I bolded the last verse because it tells us that God Himself behaves this way, and if God does it, it must be good.

"And what is it that ye shall hope for? Behold I say unto you that ye shall have hope through the atonement of Christ and the power of his resurrection, to be raised unto life eternal, and this because of your faith in him according to the promise."
Moroni 7
A good thing to always remember, hope to be raised unto life eternal because of our faith in the Lord. I do not believe one could have a fullness of hope while being grumpy. Let us keep this hope always alive.
